The fifth stage of your fire risk assessment is more of a reminder that the process is ongoing. Elements of your fire risk assessment can quickly become out of date if something changes in your place of work. It is important to update your risk assessment and procedures as soon as something changes. Setting a review date at least annually is a good way to make sure no recent changes have slipped through the net.
The sort of thing that will affect the outcome of your assessment include:
physical alterations to the premises, such as changing access routes, creating new spaces, adding or blocking off doors, etc
changes to materials on the premises, such as using a new chemical or different type of packaging
New items of equipment or new processes and procedures
Significant reduction or increase in staff numbers
Review your Fire Risk Assessment at least annually and whenever there are any changes to your work environment, systems, equipment or materials.
